Pogues-inspired puzzle. Still have yet to check them out. I saw Shane MacGowan at The Viper Room sometime years ago. When the curtains got brought up he looked out as if he had just been transported from another galaxy and was trying to get his bearings on where and when he was. It took me about a full minute of seeing his movements to realize how overwhelmingly intoxicated he was.
For the first song or two, I kept waiting for him to fall over and pass out right there on stage. I watched him perform for about 90 minutes without missing a single solitary note. There were even head-high kicks accomplished. I just read a very similar story on Shane’s wikipedia page by Robyn Hitchcock.
