I know they were here, then gone, and it’s not like I was a fan or anything. But I will always love the song “Walking On The Sun”. That and “The Way” by Fastball seemed like sister songs at that time.
If you see the Rock And Roll Crosswords slide show you will see Nancy Wilson from Heart in there. I thought she was so gorgeous when I was a kid and it tickled me silly to meet and talk to her face to face. What really put me over the edge was that it happened when I was backstage at a Pearl Jam show. While I’m at it, I met Sheryl Crow, Mike McCready, Lisa Loeb (see slide show). Sean Penn leaned in front of me. I was basically walking on air.
This is the second puzzle I have with Stevie Nicks’ words in the title. I just came back from the grocery store and since this is such a risqué grocery store, “Stand Back” was playing. On a side note, I realized that I understand about three words in that song. The jury is still out on the importance of enunciation in rock. Probably out for good.
Blues Traveler held my #1 favorite band slot for a solid decade and I still never miss a show in my area. For the record, it went Kiss, Thin Lizzy, Blues Traveler, then many. I was literally reminiscing about how John Popper sent a facebook message back to me a moment before I pulled up the next puzzle to post. Blues Traveler is in the air, so if you have them in your collection, put them in the air!
Inspired by the Phish classic of (almost) the same name.
It wasn’t until recently that I looked up the lyrics to this song and realized how great they are.
I think the best time to hear the song that inspired this title is when you are a kid.
This title marks the first and only suggestion I ever got. It came from my syndication company, universaluclick.com. Up until then, I was trying to squeeze the word “puzzle” into every title, so this suggestion was timely and welcome!
“Gish” and “Siamese Dream” speak for themselves and a puzzle was called for. Plain and simple.
I had a lot of experiences in my 3 weeks in Thailand, but the most vivid memory was this song playing at night at a bar VERY loudly while I was in the ocean rising and falling with the waves and a cold beer in my hand.
